Timber Master Cable Crane – South Laggan Forest?
The image is from a photograph collection that was originally stored at Kincardine Forest District office at Durris and may have been taken by Sandy Sandilands.
The actual year and location in unknown. The back ground detail in one of the images has a similarity to that of South Laggan Forest looking onto the hills and forest showing on the west side (Balma Glaster) of Great Glen leading to Loch Lochy. Can anyone confirm?
The PDF below shows more views of the winch, the Ford Tractor and the locking carriage. The Ford tractor model is also unidentified but has a Forestry Commission badge with a crown indicating a year no later than early 1980s. FC number is unreadable.
Any details about the Timber Master cable crane and it origins would be very welcome.
