Herbi sprayer boom under development
The image is from a photograph collection that was originally stored at Kincardine Forest District office at Durris and may have been taken by Sandy Sandilands. The actual year and location in unknown.
This appears to be the early stages of development of a multiple ‘Herbi’ micro droplet boom sprayer capable of spraying heather planted with trees which were suffering severe ‘heather check’ (not growing). The chemical spray would likely have been a mixture of light oil and 24D. The boom required to be adjustable in height, hence the inclusion of a hydraulic lifting arm on the boom. The boom is extendible as outer ‘Herbi sprayers are fixed to a part of the boom that slides into the larger dimension central section hence the coiled plastic spray fluid piping.
Note that this appears to be development modifications carried out in a forest nursery or forest workshop using existing nursery equipment and tractor registration number KUW321D.

From the limited information in this and the PDF images can anyone identify the location?
