Extended track BTD8 conversion by Forestry Commission Workshops

No information on year, location or FC number of this machine or of the people examining the plough. The front name plate with CEW 70 denotes that this was a BTD8 Second series machine that had its tracks extended in Forestry Commission Chapelhall Workshops in Airdrie. Some of the parts may have been supplied by Bowens as a name Bowen 70 was often applied to these machines as well as CEW 70. The 70 refers to the brake horse power of the machine. Note that Boughton components were also used hence the smaller rear drive sprocket. The year has been guessed at as 1976.
