Dunoon Standard Newspaper – Benmore Students prize giving 1960
The images of the Dunoon Observer dated 23 July 1960 are courtesy of Bob Boyd (Northern Ireland), from the newspaper obtained from his colleague Ian Reid. The Benmore Forester Training School prize giving day talk was given by Professor Mark L Anderson of Edinburgh University (a former Forest Research Officer with the Forestry Commission in his early days). Welcome address provided by Philip C Gough (Chief Instructor of Benmore).
The medal and First prize went to W R Cuthbertson, second prize to Robert W Boyd, Certificates to Fred Carty, M H Clements, Walter McCloskey, William A Mason, Ian L Reid, A C Orr and Ben Seniscal.
Junior prizes were awarded to A L Sharpe and F McCreadie. Roderick MacDonald (Assistant Chief Instructor) thanked Conservancy staff and other helpers.
