Dave Sutherland on Cloch Dhu, Clashindarroch Forest

This area was a key open area for controlling red deer that were spreading in from the neighbouring estates. A great vantage point and one where Dave was formerly able to call in the rutting stags by imitating their call. This area was for a time visited by a golden eagle and deer gralloch was left by Dave in a prominent position for it to feed on.
There are a number of these large isolated boulders and rocks scattered on this ridge and around the area and are mainly ‘erratics’ a legacy left behind from the last ice age.
