Queens Forest (Glenmore) Fire Plan Map 1979

The rather faded map of Queens Forest (Now named Glenmore) not only shows the main fire concerns and protection barriers but also the planted species and planting years.
The main fire details are highlighted by colour with the hazards (young plantations) in yellow, the main risk areas (public walking and camping areas) in red and good water sources in blue. The key on the bottom left shows how fire belts, fire breaks, telephones and fire rendezvous points etc were all annotated.
Turning to the tree species and planting years annotated on the map, the earliest plantings shown are 1924 (apart from old Scots pine growing before the land was acquired by the Forestry Commission) up on the top left area of the map. South of Loch Morlich the planting years are 1927 to the early 1930s further east with quite high proportions of Scots pine but some Lodgepole pine and Sitka spruce.
Intermingled with the older plantings nearer to Loch Morlich are planting years in the 1950s and 1960s some of which could be the result of wartime felling of some of the early planted or even older pre acquisition trees. Can anyone confirm?
