A large number drainage machines were demonstrated at an event in Kershope Forest in May 1964. Much of the event appears to have taken place on a cleared windblow site with heavy brash but some sections of standing forest were used to show drainage along cleared and or felled rackways. Photographs by D W Henman.

A series of photographs of a Bristol PD52 tractor with an attached ‘Pup Digger’ digging drain through brash in a fairly dry site. The bucket of the ‘Pup’ appears to be very shallow yet it is forming quite a large drain but perhaps it took quite a number of actions to execute. It does however seem to have special cutting edges on the bucket.
