Drainage Machinery Demo Kershope Forest

A large number drainage machines were demonstrated at an event in Kershope Forest in May 1964. Much of the event appears to have taken place on a cleared windblow site with heavy brash but some sections of standing forest were used to show drainage along cleared and or felled rackways. Photographs by Wm C Anderson.
A series of photographs of a short wide County tractor (CD50) with a Massey Ferguson 710 digger working its way through a wet site cover with branches and tops from felled trees. The Reg No 93 ELM and the used appearance of the back actor attachment points to this machine being a well used Forestry Commission outfit with an experienced operator executing a well made drain in difficult conditions. Note the large counter balance and hydraulic oil tank mounted in front of the County.
