Dragging Timber with Horse — Inverinan Fores
Photograph taken by Don MacCaskill and image courtesy of Bridget MacCaskill, Strathyre. Don was based as Head Forester at Inverinan from about 1960 through to about 1968 before transferring initially to Allean Forest and then Strathyre Forest in1972.
Duncan MacDougall, Inverinan, who worked at Inverinan Forest from 1948 to 1998 says ‘This photograph was taken at Kilmun March two miles south of Inverinan, not later than 1964 as the Landrover was replaced then.
The cyclist on this side of Landrover is the council roadman. The horse and men were working for LF Stewart on a thinning contract at that time.’
