Windbreak on Sitka spruce in Slattadale Forest
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.
A dramatic photograph showing the power of the wind to snap a large healthy Sitka spruce tree. It is possible this tree may have been exposed by previous windblow or the clearfelling of part of the forest.
