Sports day at Glentress Forester School 1948
Photographs and images courtesy of Joan Park who has submitted some of her father, Hamish Park’s photographs from his days at Glentress Forester Training School in 1946-48.
The image shows events and organisation of the Glentress School sports day thought to be in summer 1948 when the 1946 and 1947 intake students numbering about 60 would be participating (or at least some of them).
Joan and her mother Jean comment:
‘Running race .... Hamish Park coming in 2nd .... 1st can't confirm’
Can anyone identify the winner? Note the lay out of Nissan and wooden huts.

Follow on from picture number 974 a further 2 huts are, the small one left is oil store for van oils and later on in the 1960's into 70's for chainsaw oils etc. Cook house is the other hut later to become Jimmy Foggo's mechanic's shed.
