Coastal erosion control work at Culbin Forest 1973
Photographs courtesy of Abbie Gordon, Banchory.
Zig zag wooden groynes built into the foreshore at Culbin to help trap and build up the moving sand and gravel as it washed down along the coast. The photograph shows Ridge and Furrow sand formation among the groynes which is building up and helping to protect the base of the large dune next to the sea.
