Jimmy White felling at Monaughty Forest
Photographs courtesy of Abbie Gordon, Banchory.
Felling Douglas fir planted in the 1920s on the south side of Monaughty Forest with a Husqvarna chainsaw.
The operator felling the Douglas Fir is Jimmy White. The timing is a bit vague but sometime during the seventies. The Douglas fir was located in a small den above Garrowslack on the Alves side of Monaughty.
This tree may well be from the first plantings in Monaughty in 1920.
