Glentress Forester Training School circa 1952
Photograph is part of Bill Stoddart’s collection of images taken when he was a lecturer at several Forester Training Schools. The photographs were handed in by his daughter Lilian Allan at the Forestry Memories drop in day at Huntly on 11 June 2010.
It has proved to be particularly difficult to name any of the students and set a year for this photograph but Bert Thomson, Archiestown believes the person numbered as 29 is Donald Scott who was a Junior at Benmore Forester Training School when Bert was there on exchange in Jan 1951.
It is thought as a consequence that this photograph taken when trees are not in leaf would be one showing all the exchange students at Glentress in Feb/Mar 1952. It is likely then that the students would be Class of 1950-52 from various Forestry Schools over the country.
Any help to name students or confirm any of the above would be very welcome.
