Moray Forest District office staff day out visiting a forest harvesting site
The slides were originally held by the late Alan Green of Forest Research (Newton) but handed over to Lesley Hutcheson by his widow who passed them onto Forestry and Land Scotland and thereafter found their way to Forestry Memories.
Lesley Hutcheson, formerly of Moray and Aberdeenshire Forest District, is sitting in the machine and her colleague Jackie Forsyth is standing outside at the front. The driver Davie Craib is watching the ‘trainee drivers’ take a photo shot.
The machine is a Ford County 774 skidder PSC697V (FC No 50688) with radio controlled double drum winch and may be operating in Culbin Forest.
This photograph probably covers the period when the Moray Forest District was first formed managed by Struan Stewart comprising part of Laigh of Moray and parts of Speyside Forest. Its neighbour was Speyside Forest District managed by Jim Webster.
