The slides were originally held by the late Alan Green of Forest Research (Newton) but handed over to Lesley Hutcheson by his widow who passed them onto Forestry and Land Scotland and thereafter found their way to Forestry Memories.

Lesley Hutcheson, formerly of Moray and Aberdeenshire Forest District, is featured standing on the far side of the timber drag. It appears as though Leslie may have the radio controller for the timber winches.

The machine is a Ford County 774 skidder PSC697V (FC No 50688) with radio controlled double drum winch and may be operating in Culbin Forest. The driver was Davie Craib.

This photograph probably covers the period when the Moray Forest District was first formed managed by Struan Stewart comprising part of Laigh of Moray and parts of Speyside Forest. Its neighbour was Speyside Forest District managed by Jim Webster.
