Fearnoch Forest Map 2 - Lorne Forest District
The map was recovered from a shed at Newton which acted as a storage area for Forest Research who used the maps to locate forest and tree experiments in the field.
These two area south of Loch Etive and on either side of the River Awe were planted in the period 1968- 1975 on land acquired around 1965. The areas appear to have substantial areas of native woodland (annotated as scrub). The map was last updated in 1991.
Any details on this forest area and its forest staff would be very welcome.
