Benmore House – base for Forester Training School

A lovely view of the house and back ground tree covered hill slopes. The tower on the left had three upper floors with two bedrooms per floor, each furnished with multiple single beds. This was traditionally the bedrooms for the first year students. The ground floor front rooms to the left were mainly lecture or study rooms. To the right of the entrance door, a very fine reception room, offices for the head of the School and other staff with accommodation for staff and family on upper floor. Second year students were allocated accommodation mainly in the wing behind and the very well appointed and panelled billiard room is on the extreme right.
