Queen’s Stone Glenmore Forest – Charles and Diana marriage plaque and tree planting ceremony

Date Added: 06 September 2024 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1981 Picture No: 5936

The photograph was taken by the late Finlay MacRae who was a District Officer in the Forestry Commission based in Dingwall at the time. The images are courtesy of his daughter Donna.

This view of the group shows the side of the cairn that holds the original plaque erected in 1935 on the occasion of King George V silver jubilee. The then new Forestry Commission area was named as The Queen’s Forest - a name which has fallen out of use in favour of Glenmore Forest.
