Thought to be taken in Ardross Forest on this occasion, Archie is using the more cost effective double tine plough furrow head with the Clark of Parkgate manufacturer’s name on the mounting assembly below the hydraulic rams.
This was the machine of choice for ploughing of newly felled drier pine and larch species felled forest sites. The ploughing provided more easily accessed planting points for the planters and it was also hoped the disturbance would provide more nutrients for the young trees.
