Glenkingie part of Glengarry Forest -1973 Forest survey updated 1981
The map was recovered from shed at Newton Nursery which acted as a storage area for Forest Research who used the maps to locate forest and tree experiments in the field.
This map covers the Glenkingie area of the forest and may feature one of the later acquisitions in 1966 possibly from Locheil Estates. This is far from certain however and requires verification.
The planting is generally a mix of pure Sitka spruce areas interspersed with areas of pure Lodgepole pine planted up from 1970 to 1974. There are a very few small areas of Scots pine and larch.
