Demonstration of the six row seed sowing machine in Ledmore Nursery
The images are courtesy of Michael Lawrence of Bankfoot whose grandfather, Sandy Rose, was Forester and Head Forester at Ledmore Forest Nursery from 1950 (when land was acquired) until his retirement in 1969.
This may be a machine demonstration to the man on the extreme left. In this case the operation of sowing the seed may have just covered one bed and the technical points are being discussed. No grit spreader is attached to the machine in this period.
Can the man with the tie and any of the nursery staff be named?
