David Marshall Lodge now called The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre

This is a view of the newly completed David Marshall Lodge on or very near to it opening day in August 1960. The PDF link below this text box shows another view of the building.
The building on a Forestry Commission forest site was commissioned and funded by the Carnegie United kingdom Trust and handed over to the Forestry Commission (Scotland) to manage and develop.
The building designed by Dunfermline architects James Shearer and George Annand now a category B listed building and is reputed to be of Lake District stone. The name of the construction company is not recalled.
