St Palladius Church – Drumtochty Glen and Forest

Date Added: 10 November 2021 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1972 Picture No: 5259

The image is from a photograph collection that was originally stored at Kincardine Forest District.

High quality series of images by I A (Tony) Anderson, the Forestry Commission photographer based in Alice Holt assigned Number B7198.

The note on the back indicates that the neighbouring land is part of Mearns Forest.

This listed building is very close to Drumtochty Castle and forest. The Forestry Commission may well have acquired much of Drumtochty Estate, some or all of its buildings. The church was built by the Gammell family who owned the Estate for a century from 1822.

Any details would be welcome.
