First concrete bridge over Cowie Water , Fetteresso Forest

The note on the back indicates that this is part of Mearns Forest.
The Forestry Commission forest road engineers were by this time very adept at constructing all concrete bridges with added internal reinforcing. The bridge erected shuttering which resulted in very smooth neat outlines on the finished product. Vibrating pokers also help create the smooth clean surfaces. It was only some years later that railings were added as a safety measure.
