Frank Bruce – Colleonard Sculpture Garden
The image is from a photograph collection that was originally stored at Kincardine Forest District.
This series of images are of Frank Bruce sculptures taken in the garden at Colleonard, Banff where they were displayed for many years.
At some point in the mid 1990s, or later, a new home for Frank Bruce’s sculptures was being sought and the Tyrebagger Forest Sculpture trail, outside Aberdeen was considered a potential. Hence the series of photographs to assess the space requirements (See PDF below).
In the event it must have been decided that Tyrebagger Forest was not the best location and the art work was located to Forestry Commission land close to Feshiebridge. That site is relatively close to Aviemore, has a variety of site types, some water features and a special walking trail was created linking all the relocated sculptures.
More details very welcome.
Please see the PDF below which has a series of images of some of the sculptures as they appeared in the Colleonard Garden on the outskirts of Banff.
