Presentation to Hugh and Moira MacKay on their departure from Ratagan in 1978. Presenting the tray is George MacKenzie who had great skills as a piper and piping instructor and in honour of the occasion had composed two pipe tunes ‘Hugh MacKay’s Farewell to Ratagan’ and ‘Moira’s Waltz’.

Hugh, Chief Forester at Ratagan which then covered the forest areas at Inverinate, Dorusduain, Glenshiel, Moyle, Glenbeag, Ardintoul and Arnisdale, was leaving to take up the Chief Forester post in charge of Shin Forest at Lairg, Sutherland.
