Felling large trees
The image is from a collection of slides and photographs ‘rescued from the skip’ and handed to Forestry Memories. Generally very little information with or about them and for details we will have to rely on readers’ memories or geographical knowledge.
This particular slide had AW penned onto its frame. Could this be a reference to Sandy Watson, Forester, who was keen on photography? The year has been suggested as 1975 from the model of the Husqvarna saw being used.
Any suggestions as to the name of the operator and location are very welcome.
Please see the PDF for another view of the action and a clear view of the operator where urea with a dye is being liberally applied to large cut stump.
