The image is from a collection of slides and photographs ‘rescued from the skip’ and handed to Forestry Memories. Generally very little information with or about them and for details we will have to rely on readers’ memories or geographical knowledge.

This particular slide had AW penned onto its frame. Could this be a reference to Sandy Watson, Forester, who was keen on photography? The year has been suggested as 1975 from the model of the Husqvarna saw being used.

Any suggestions as to the name of the operator and location are very welcome.

It looks like the same person in photo No 818 added in 2011 Jimmy White ?! The Husqvarna Chainsaw is a 162 SE or SG. This model was superseded by the Husqvarna 266 in the early eighties.Looking at his Hard Hat, it is Tuffmaster safety Helmet with the protector safety visor and Bilsom Black ear Defenders, these were issued from around the late seventies onwards.
