Clearfell site in an unknown location

Date Added: 22 February 2021 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1965 Picture No: 5055

The image is from a collection of slides and photographs ‘rescued from the skip’ and handed to Forestry Memories. Generally very little information with or about them and for details we will have to rely on readers’ memories or geographical knowledge.

Looks to have been a larch site which may have had some windblow. Note the curving valley below with extensive forests on ridge. Can anyone name the car model and the location?

Happy to take a stab and say that it may be looking south from FC Kindrogan and Blackcraig Forests in Strathardle, Perthshire with Strathmore and the Sidlaw hills in the background. But I may have just convinced myself of this and its somewhere entirely different.
My guess at the car is a Ford Popular: 1960's.
