Restocking on felled sand dunes
The image is from a collection of slides and photographs ‘rescued from the skip’ and handed to Forestry Memories. Generally very little information with or about them and for details we will have to rely on readers’ memories or geographical knowledge.
This image and three that follow it (See PDF below) appear to show a very sandy soil location such as Culbin, Roseisle or Tentsmuir, Fife where clearfelling has taken place and for some reason the brash has been scraped back. It looks as though the areas have been shallow space ploughed and pine inserted in the bottom of the furrow.
Any comments and observations welcome including potential identity of location.
