The image is courtesy of Joan Park, Perth, whose father, Hamish, was a forester at that time based in Glentrool Forest. The school consisted of two class rooms, a hall and school kitchen.

The school photograph taken in 1964 shows children attending at that time. Many of the children are from the village and their parents will have worked for the Forestry Commission.

All the people have been numbered and Joan has been able to name many of the pupils as shown below:

Joan remembers that Lindsey and Andrew Cooper were the children of the assistant forester J A M Cooper. Kenneth and Susan Amer (twins) were the children of forester Don Amer.

Mr Fyfe was Head Teacher for a short period after Bill Kettles left to take up Head Teacher role at Lochnell School in Benderloch. Mr Fell subsequently replaced Mr Fyfe as Head Teacher.

More of the children’s names and those of their parents who worked in the Forestry Commission would be very welcome.

Wondering if anyone can help my Dad trace his bio Dad. Apparently he was a teacher at the school named Mr Campbell around 1958?
My Dad's mum was Dorothy Donnelly (nee Blane).

I am number 37 and my sister was number 19....iwas ian donnelly way back then ,we left glentrool shortly after and travelled .....i remember joan park!,you lived in the smarter looking houses...lol,,william rennie was my pal,,,i remember this .....as if it was yesterday!........great place! My father was James Fyfe, head teacher in this photo. I was three years old at the time and my brother Graeme was two and my youngest brother Gavin was born in Glen Trool in 1964. We moved to Germany after this for four years as Dad had a teaching job at Osnabruck and Munchengladbach teaching British Forces children.
