The images are courtesy of Joan Park, Perth whose father, Hamish, was a forester based in Glentrool Forest from approx 1956 to 1967.

As Joan was staying at Stroan some distance from Glentrool Village, and its school, the ‘school car’ picked her up each morning to take her to school.

The school had two classrooms, a hall and school kitchen. Joan recalls “While I was teaching in Edinburgh I linked up my primary class with the very few remaining children at Glentrool school. We sent photos and letters to each other. It was nice to be back in contact with old place again!”

The Glentrool Primary School closed about 2008.
