Mar Lodge Sawmill and Camp Canadian Forestry Corps Company No 25
The image has come recently arrived from Canada via Alistair Cassie, Ballater whose cousin located the image.
A panorama compendium of photographs showing the front of the Mar Lodge camp and sawmill taken in 1942. The mill is on the left and the main building appears to be aligned away from the photographer with the log pond at the far end. The end nearest to the photographer would be the points where the end products would emerge and be loaded onto trucks etc.
There are several trucks and possible trailers seen, also perhaps a Willys type personnel vehicle. The accommodation and mess huts are all at the rear of the metal Nissen huts aligned along the front in camouflage paint decor. One assumes the Nissen huts were uses as stores and workshops.
