Centenary of the Forestry Commission – Tree planting pipe music
Images are courtesy of the Royal Scottish Forestry Society (RSFS) Centenary Event committee (headed by Graham Hamilton) and Scottish Forestry.
Steve Brown, Huntly, a former FC Conservancy Woodland Officer is providing some stirring music to accompany the planting of the tree by the 16th Lord Lovat on Moday 9th Dec 2019.
During the tree planting ceremony Steve played “The Dawning of the Day” which seemed appropriate and then “Crags of Tumbledown Mountain” a treeless grassland in the Falklands which may have been the local scene one hundred years earlier. He certainly had one avid and discerning listener who stood there all through the tunes!
