Balmacara and South Strome Forest areas

One of a series of maps and drawings found in old ex military map cases stored in the loft of the Fort August Forest office and recovered by Grant Macintosh. The year is uncertain but has been guessed as around 1930

This area appears to have been a potential acquisition by the Forestry Commission and was thoroughly walked over and vegetation details added with some notes on soil and peat added. The blue washed areas indicate unplantable land and the pencil line could indicate a possible fence line.
