Hemek Forwarder at Kielder Forest
The photograph is courtesy of Iain Gale, mobile plant manager with James Jones at Lockerbie, who started his forestry career as a Forest Craftsman chainsaw operator in 1981 at Forestry Commission Dalbeattie Forest and onwards to Harvesting Foreman at Kielder FD.
Iain comments:
“The Hemek forwarder is extracting Logpoles at Kielder for BSW, James Jones and Howie. This was very popular at the time as it gave the mills an option to quickly cut sizes which were required for orders.”
