This is one of a series of four illustrated articles written by Andy Neustein in the Scottish Forestry Journal in 1976/1977 and later reprinted as four separate leaflets.
The articles are sub titled:
1. Introduction and Early Developments
2. Historical Review of Ploughing on Wet Soils
3. Historical Review of ploughing on Dry Soils
4. Mounted Ploughs (and Other Regeneration Equipment)

The contents give a very detailed overview of the stages of development of cultivation and ground preparation from the very early days of Forestry through to 1977. Articles 2, 3 and 4 are uploaded in subsequent web site numbers.
