The text reads as:
‘Dense vegetation in cleared area (loam over clay) two years after felling.’ It is assumed that this Morton is close to Dumfries?
At this date forestry minds were increasingly turning to the task of replanting felled woodlands and forests and seeking ways to overcome the many problems associated with planting in sites with large tree stumps, fast weed growth and large volumes of brash.
Can anyone identify the man?
