Senior Forestry Commission Staff Conference
Photograph courtesy of David Foot, Surrey who believes this photograph was taken in 1983 possibly in the Hydro Hotel in Dunblane to discuss the proposed staff re-organisation and the introduction of a three tier management structure entailing the merger of the former Districts and Forests into 70 new Forest Districts. There were proposals at this time to review the work of the Conservancies and Headquarters and also to unify the Forest Officer and Forester grades.
Many staff have been named and job titles added but as this was a period of significant change in work roles some have more than one job description.
