No information with this slide or date of operation but it appears that conifers are being removed from under and around oak trees and perhaps at the time when the Atlantic Oakwood project was underway to recover partially ‘lost’ areas. The year has been guessed as 1986 but could be well out.

The confusing point is that the horse is dragging what looks very like a healthy oak trunk but perhaps the timber was being used as part of the conservation project.

Can anyone provide any information and also name the horseman?
