South Laggan Forest stock map
Map is courtesy of Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District and staff at their Fort Augustus office. See the large picture.
Part only of South Laggan Forest stock map which shows the southern end. This map would have been produced following an extensive forest survey probably over the previous two years. The compartments visible run from No 35- 59 all planted on the very steep and friable soil slopes on the east side of Loch Lochy. This was one of the very early forests and the planting years shown run from 1923- 1933 with very high proportions of Norway and Sitka spruce.
Any further early details and names of foresters and workers would be very welcome.
