CoireDubh Caledonian pine wood

The remnants of an ancient Caledonian pine forest at Coire Dubh in Achnashellach Forest where the trees had been planted around with conifers in the past and which were being cleared under a new policy to protect and enhance all existing areas of ancient native pine woods.
The aim was to initially clear the areas around the recognised Ancient Native pine wood trees and then try and start the process of natural regeneration from those trees or failing that process look at raising seedling trees from the seed of the remnants. A difficult process if there were planted non ancient Scots pine woods nearby which would cross pollinate with the ancient trees.
Does anyone remember this process and the machine operator working on a track or creating a seeding regenerating area?
