Maps are courtesy of Moray and Aberdeenshire Forest District.

This is a 1968 resurvey of part of Monaughty Forest in the area south of Forres and covers the Newtyle Wood and Romach Hill. The compartments range from No 1 through to 61 with some of the earliest planting being 1932 north of Romach Loch and in the 1950s south of the Loch. This was originally a separate forest on its own but amalgamated with Monaughty Forest over time.

Any details about the forest or your work in the forest are very welcome.
