Teindland Forest — Resurveyed circa 1963

This map has a cover signed by the then District Officer, R G Cathie, who covered several forests in the area. Bob Cathie was Conservator North Scotland in the 1980s.
This would appear to have been one of the early forests to have been resurveyed, mapped and had all its compartments renumbered, all to a new format to provide better information for working plan calculations and to reflect new mapping methods. There is no indication of who or when this work was carried out other than the hand written year of 1963 on the cover.
The earliest planting years appear to be around Compartments 12-14 and annotated as 1924. Note the areas of SP which have been acquired and have been given a planting year of 1898, probably estimated. In compartment No 11 tree nursery is shown opposite a area marked as a Seed Stand. There are two Forest Worker Holdings in this locality also. There is and unusually shaped line demarcating the planting years in Compartments No 20-25 and also an absence of the full grid iron pattern suggesting a forest fire could have burnt a large area in the early 1940s. Can anyone confirm?
Someone has highlighted the forest roads and water courses in red pen and added names of localities and farms. One or two other markings are unusual such as the long arrow pointing to a red circle?
