Hand drawn Speymouth Forest Map No2

Hand drawn Speymouth Forest Map No2

Date Added: 16 September 2015 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1950 Picture No: 3018

Maps are courtesy of Moray and Aberdeenshire Forest District.

Hand drawn map shows the outline of the acquired areas around the village of Fochabers which were then available for planting or replanting. Unfortunately on this map and its companion Map No1 there is no indication of a date or originator apart from initials which look like VB on the bottom left corner. The year 1950 is just a rough estimate.

In this map at least there has been an attempt to add the compartment boundaries and the some numbers which are not in sequence and vary widely from No 40 to No 277
The areas named on the map as acquired are:
Whiteash Hill
Leitch’s Wood
Slorach’s Wood
Wood of Ordiequish

Any details about the woods or your work in these woods are very welcome.
