Forest Design Plan — Clashindarroch Forest 1

Date Added: 10 September 2015 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1999 Picture No: 3007

Map is courtesy of Moray and Aberdeenshire Forest District and is the Felling Sequence part of a 1994 Forest Design Plan for the area known as South Clashindarroch Forest. Note that this is part of the revised Forest Design Plan completed five years after the first one shown in Picture No 3005

There are quite a few changes to the original plan one of the main being the large extension of the Continuous Cover or Long Term Retentions areas denoted in hatched white. Some of the coupes have changed a little in design but most of the first approved coupes in the previous Design Plan have been felled and replanted (indicated by a green asterisk).

The plan is still hand drawn in this case by Forester Donald Macleod who was responsible for compiling and progressing all the Forest Design plans at this time. The plan has been approved by Grampian Conservancy and signed off by Sinclair Coghill. Unfortunately the other parts of the plan and the text are not currently to hand.
