Highland Bear Forwarder on Panmure Estate - c1981
Photograph courtesy of Leslie Phillip, Perth who worked on Panmure Estate near Carnoustie for about 8 years driving the forwarder. Here the Highland Bear is being in a snow storm with another load for the sawmill.
Note the extensions on the trailer (uprights) which were an innovation by the head forester to enable the carrying of a larger load of pulp wood.

Note the lack of a dwang and chain chancing it on last load of the day with a hungry sawmill to feed.
