Part of Glen Brittle Forest Skye
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.
Beautiful high elevation view over part of the forest with very wet valley bottom part of which has developed into a patchwork of ‘dhu lochans’. The objective of the visit was to assess the potential for further land acquisitions to the left on the hill opposite. The site is described as opposite the Square Mile?

The 'square mile' was Willie Sutherland's nickname for it. It stuck and he joked when they put the signs up formally naming it.
