Timber harvesting site at Craiknish
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.
Clearfell site in progress at Craiknish where the timber stacked at roadside looks as though it has been extracted by winch. Beyond the men on the road appears to be an independent loader for for loading the timber lorries.
The men are not named but the one in the deer stalker looks a bit like Forester John Pargeter – can anyone confirm and suggest name for the other person?
