Culbin Sand Dunes 1909
Photograph courtesy of Moray and Aberdeenshire Forest District with particular help from Lesley Hutcheson who collected a series of general photographs found in the Newton Office and filed them.
No information on this image other than ‘Culbin 1909’ but it appears to show one of the leading edges of a very large dune covering many tens of acres and of some considerable depth of sand. Certainly a very dramatic image showing the gravel and marram grass plain in the foreground under imminent threat from inundation.
